Education Minister Andrew Holness is expected to meet with officials at the Christiana High School in Manchester, this morning following a protest at the institution.

Yesterday, classes were suspended for a second day, as teachers demonstrated against the recent incident of violence at the school.

On Wednesday, two female students attacked acting Vice Principal, Catliene Williams.

It is expected that the Education Minister, will use this meeting to discuss changes to the school’s disciplinary code.

In recent weeks, there have been mounting concerns about the issue of violence in schools.

The problem has caused the Education Minister, to declare new minimum safety and security standards for all high schools.

He said under the new standards, the Ministry would provide schools with metal detectors to search students.
