Water lock offs begin

Published:Monday | February 25, 2008 | 11:02 AM

The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising that scheduled water lock offs will begin in the Corporate Area today.

The areas to be affected are those served by the Hermitage Dam in St. Andrew.

These include Manor Park, Havendale, Cherry Gardens, Constant Spring Road, Hughenden, Jacks Hill, Barbican and sections of Stony Hill.

The restrictions will take effect from 9 pm to 3 am.

The NWC said the restrictions are being implemented because of a shortage in water supplies, resulting from the period of drought affecting parts of Jamaica.
