NAJ still awaiting new Chairman

Members of the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) are still to receive word regarding a new chairman for the Nursing Council.

The matter was one of the issues discussed during a meeting of NAJ members yesterday.

Recently, the association called for the Chairman and Registrar of the Council to be removed, claiming they were no longer satisfied with the manner in which both individuals were operating the Council.

Since then the various nurses associations across the island have made submissions regarding the persons whom they wish to represent them on the council.

However, Cabinet is to state whether these recommendations have been approved, and is also expected to name the chairman of the council.

NAJ President, Edith Allwood Anderson said the association would make its recommendation for a new registrar, as soon as the new council convenes its first meeting.
