India reach finals

India is through to the finals of the Commonwealth Banks series after a seven-wicket victory against Sri Lanka earlier today in Hobart.

A 102-run partnership between Sachin Tendulkar, who slammed 63, and an undefeated 64 from Gautam Gambhir secured the win with more than 17 overs to spare.

India were set 180 to win, after Ishant Sharma and Praveen Kumar claimed four wickets each to dismiss Sri Lanka for 179 in 47.1 overs.

Chamara Kapugedera top scored for Sri Lanka with 57.

India ace Australia in the best-of-three finals.
