A University of the West Indies (UWI) Professor is warning that Jamaica could see an increase in storm activities and hurricanes as global climate affects the country.

Director at the Marine Geology Unit, Edward Robinson said the authorities should put proper mitigation measures in place to reduce the likely impact.

Professor Robinson said the government should also consider building nuclear power plants, and Jamaicans should employ better energy practices.
