Government to relocate fishing village

Transport and Works Minister, Mike Henry said plans are underway to relocate the fishing village, which was previously located at the Portmore Causeway in St. Catherine



Mr. Henry said the relocation of the fishing village is being done, as part of ongoing work to complete the Portmore leg of Highway 2000.



He said the new village would be relocated to a section of the Jamworld property along the Dyke Road.



The contract, which is valued at more than $80 million, has been awarded to M & M Jamaica Ltd.



The project is to be completed in the next eight months.
