Jamaican fast bowler Jermaine Lawson signed a deal to play for Leistershire this summer.

The 26 year old pace man, who faced scrutiny over his controversial bowling action, has been signed as a kolpak player.

The kolpak ruling allows any player from countries that share an associate trading relationship with the European Nation, to play as a professional within the European Nation. The players do not count as an overseas player.

Lawson joins his Jamaican teammate Wavell Hinds and Barbadian Pedro Collins as kolpak players on the English County circuit.

In 13 Tests for the West Indies, Lawson picked up 51 wickets, including a best bowling haul of seven for 78 against Australia.
