OUR to decide on taxi fare increase
The National Council of Taxi Associations (NCTA) is taking issue with a decision by the Transport Authority to refer its application for a fare increase to the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR).
In an advertisement in the Sunday Gleaner yesterday, the Transport Authority asked the OUR to manage the application for a review of route taxi fares.
Members of the public are invited to make submissions on the application by next week Friday, March 14.
However, President of the National Council of Taxi Association, Dion Chance is questioning the decision of the Transport Authority.
Senior Director, Policy and Regulation at the OUR, Maurice Chavis said the application may be obtained from the OUR website or its Information Centre.
