The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) is awaiting a report from investigators on the circumstances, which led two buses being damaged at the Spanish Town depot on Wednesday.

The buses were reportedly damaged by fire. This is the second time in two weeks that the company’s buses have been burnt.

On February 23, four JUTC buses at the Portmore depot were destroyed by fire.

Marketing and Sales Manager at the JUTC, Lenworth Simms, said security measures have been intensified at the depots.

Mr Simms said the company has changed the security company that was contracted to the JUTC, and 10 employees at the Portmore depot, have reportedly been suspended pending investigations into last month’s fire.

The workers were said to have been on duty when the fire occurred.
