Jamaican awarded surfing scholarship

Jamaican Ackeam Phillips has been awarded a scholarship from the International Surfing Association.

The scholarship is valued at US$1,200. It will assist with education, purchasing surfing equipments and for travelling to competitions.

19 other junior surfers from 16 countries have been selected for the 2008 scholarship.

Imani Wilmot was the first Jamaican recipient of the scholarship.
