35 children currently experiencing heart problems will get assistance starting tomorrow.

The assistance will be made possible through the Chain of Hope medical team from the United Kingdom, The Caribbean Heart Menders Association and the Jamaican Children Heart Fund from the United States.

The team of medical volunteers, alongside the local Cardiothoracic Surgeons will be performing various heart surgeries free of cost.

Natasha Russell, the Administrator of Chain of Hope Jamaica said there is not enough blood available to do the surgeries. They need at least a total of 140 units of blood.

Donors are being asked to visit the blood bank across the island to give specifically for the cardiac surgery.

Members of the groups will be visiting the island to perform heart surgery on the children over the period March 11 to 14, March 30 to April 6 and April 7 to 11.
