16 year old high school student, Robert Lightbourne is booked to appear in the Yallahs Resident Magistrate court in St. Thomas today to answer to a murder charge.
The teenager was arrested on Friday, following the death of 27 year old security guard, Maurice Hendricks.
The security guard was allegedly hit on the back of the head with a piece of board.
Reports are that Mr. Hendricks, who was stationed at the school, was attempting to intervene in a row between two male students.
He was reportedly hit from behind with the board, knocking him unconscious.
Mr. Hendricks was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital in the parish, and later transferred to the Kingston Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
