The Digicel Home Series has begun with Sri Lanka facing a West Indies Select Eleven at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence.

The Sri Lankan team will use the three-day warm-up game to prepare for the first Test against the West Indies, which starts at the same venue on Saturday.

Barbadian wicketkeeper Patrick Brown, 26, will lead the West Indies’ Select team.

The squad also includes four players who represented the West Indies Under 19 team in last month’s Youth World Cup in Malaysia.

They are Jamaican pacer Jason Dawes, captain Shamarh Brooks, Guyanese Steven Jacobs and Nevisian opener Kieron Powell.
