Trinidad and Tobago\'s opposition leader Basdeo Panday said the people of the country must take credit for forcing the government to abort plans to purchase an executive jet.

The executive jet would have been for Prime Minister and ministerial use.

Yesterday Caribbean Airlines reportedly backed away from that deal.

The airline and the government had agreed that if the vendor did not consent to an anti-corruption clause in the contract, the government would not buy the jet.
