Striker Deon Burton, who played a vital part in Jamaica’s historic qualification for the France 1998 World Cup Finals, has been included among 13 overseas-based players for next week’s friendly international against Trinidad and Tobago.

The game will take place at the National Stadium, beginning at 7 p.m.

31-year-old Burton, who plays for Sheffield Wednesday in the English Championships, will represent Jamaica for the first time since the teams 6-0 defeat by England at Old Trafford in 2006.

Among the other overseas-based players are Ricardo Gardner of Bolton, Marlon King (Wigan), Donovan Ricketts of Bradford City, Demar Phillips of Stoke City and Luton Shelton, who plays from Sheffield United.

The remaining overseas-based players are Omar Daley, Ian Goodison, Demar Stewart, Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Oneil Thompson, Khari Stephenson and Tyrone Marshall.

The game will be used by both teams as part of their preparations for the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
