Carey beat Burke in ITF Junior tournament

Bahamian Rodney Carey got past Jamaican Brandon Burke yesterday and booked a spot in the last eight of the Boys’ Under-18 singles of the IBM/International Tennis Federation Junior tournament in Trinidad.



With Carey leading 2-1 in the round of 16 match the Jamaican retired hurt to hand the Bahamian a quarterfinal place.



Burke had registered an upset victory on Tuesday, when he bounced out the Number Three seed Lendl Smith of T&T 6-4, 7-5.
