Carib Beer Series continues

Leeward Islands, winning the toss and choosing to bat, were 135 for one at lunch on the first day of their final round Carib Beer Series match against Combined, Campuses and Colleges at Grove Park in Nevis.

Kieran Powell has so far top scored with 85, while Shane Jeffers is unbeaten on 41.

Hosts Trinidad and Tobago, batting after winning the toss, reached 75 without loss at lunch against Barbados.

William Perkins is unbeaten on 34 and Adrian Barath is 31 not out.

The teams are aiming to finish second to advance to the Challenge Final. T&T have 43 points, one point more than Barbados.

Jamaica, which won the league, are already in the grand final.

The match between Guyana and Windward Islands at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence will start tomorrow after the visitors’ luggage failed to arrive.

Cricket officials said the luggage should arrive today.
