JCF to introduce video identification

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will be establishing a new unit to deal with all aspects relating to visual identification.

The primary focus will be on the new video identification parade system.

The system will facilitate the delivering of video and still images for presentation to witnesses.

This is a change from the conventional methods, which require both the witness and those on parade to be at the same location.

The force said six officers have completed a one-week training course on the system.

Experts from the United Kingdom delivered the training.
