The Commissioner of Police, Rear Admiral Hardly Lewin said the abuse of the Noise Abatement Act would not be allowed to continue.

He said he would be receiving recommendations by Friday for dealing with night noise and the enforcement of the Noise Abatement Act.

The Commissioner said it would not be business as usual for many dance session especially those that continue beyond 2 a.m.

Admiral Lewin said the police would be reviewing the process through which permits are granted to operators for some of these events.

Last week seven persons were shot, one fatally at the popular British Link up dance at La Roose in Portmore.

It is reported that men said to be licensed firearm holders were involved in a dispute when they began firing at each other.
