The police in St. Elizabeth arrested two of their colleagues on corruption charges on Saturday.

Charged for breaching the Anti Corruption Act are Corporal Sylvester Thaxter and Constable Kevin White.

The charges arose from an incident on December 3, last year where the officers who claim they found a firearm in the man’s vehicle stopped a motorist in St. Elizabeth.

The officers allegedly took $29,000 from the man promising not to prosecute him.

The motorist reported the matter to the police and following investigations the two were arrested and charged.
