Cuba to train 250 Dominica nurses
The Ministry of Health in Dominica will take up an offer by the Cuban government to train 250 nurses by next year.
This move is expected to end the island’s nursing shortage.
The migration of nurses from various countries in the Caribbean to North America, the United Kingdom and Canada has left authorities in the region scrambling for solutions.
Health Minister John Fabian believes Dominica’s treatment of the nursing situation is a model for other Caribbean Community states to follow.
