Antigua’s Prime Minister, Baldwin Spencer said CARICOM heads of government are very serious about tackling widespread criminal activity in the region.
He said the leaders are hoping to decide on a set of proposals to effectively fight crime at this weekend\'s special summit in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Mr. Spencer said lack of resources remains a major hurdle.
He said efforts to patrol Caribbean waters has proven difficult as a strategy to reduce crime linked to drug trafficking, gun smuggling and related illegal activity.
