Classes are to resume at the Happy Grove High School in Portland this morning following roadblocks, which were mounted by residents in Manchioneal in the parish and in St. Thomas yesterday.

Several taxi and minibus operators also withdrew their services to protest against the deplorable road conditions in sections of the two parishes.

Principal of Happy Grove, Lauriston Lindsay explained that only 300 of the more than 1,000 students turned up for classes yesterday morning.

He said the protests affected preparations for the Caribbean Secondary Education Council (CSEC) exams at the school.
