Marley mother dies

The mother of late Jamaican reggae icon, Bob Marley has died.

Cedella Booker reportedly died in her sleep last night, in Florida in the United States at the age of 82.

Minister of Information, Culture Olivia Grange has expressed regret at the passing of Mrs. Booker.

Ms. Grange described her contribution to the Jamaican culture as invaluable.

She also noted that it was Mrs. Booker’s strength of character that influenced Marley’s discipline and determination in taking reggae music to the world.

Mrs. Booker was a singer and songwriter as well as the author of two books ‘Bob Marley, My Son’ and ‘Bob Marley: An Intimate Portrait by His Mother’.
