Eltham crush St. Catherine High

Eltham High crushed St. Catherine High by an innings and five runs to retain the Grace Shield Premier League cricket title on yesterday’s second day of the three-day final at Chedwin Park.



Replying to St. Catherine High’s 81, while Eltham were dismissed for 217 against the bowling of Shanold Wilson six for 33.



Shawn Harris top scored for Eltham with 50 runs.



Facing a deficit of 136 runs, St. Catherine High batting a second time could only managed 131.



Bowling for Eltham, spinner Frederick Hermitt finished with five for 32 and Romeo Parker, another spin bowler, supported with two for 31.



Eltham will now face St. Jago in the semi-final of the Grace/Jamaica International Insurance Company Knockout competition on Monday.



The winner will face Waterford in the final set for April 17.



Defending champions St. Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) are in a good position to qualify for the final of the Grace Headley Cup.



After yesterday’s first day of the three-day final at STETHS, the home school, replying to Holmwood Technical’s 93, closed on 139 for seven.



The winner will face Manchester High in the final.
