Jamaica cruises thrive

Despite the competitive nature of the cruise shipping industry Jamaica continues to command a high rating as a premier Caribbean cruise destination.



Vice president of Carnival Cruise line, Gordon Buck said his company enjoyed the more than 30-year relationship with Jamaica.



Mr. Buck also said the company continues to place the country very high on its list of preferred destinations.



Carnival Cruise lines has several of its ships calling regularly in Jamaica, bringing in more than 470,000 visitors into the island annually.



Mr. Buck said that with several new ships now under construction, and itineraries being considered, Jamaica could be among the chosen destinations.
