Melbourne/St. Catherine record victories

Melbourne Kangaroos and St. Catherine Saints recorded victories yesterday in the fourth round of matches in the Jamaica Super League, the island’s Semi-Professional cricket championship.

The Kangaroos bounced back from a first innings deficit to beat Kingston Tigers by 25 runs at Sabina Park.

Resuming yesterday on 73 for three, Melbourne Kangaroos were bowled out for 125 in its second innings with Nehemiah Perry taking four for 17.

Needing 111 runs to secure a victory, Kingston Tigers could only managed 86 against the bowling of Damion Jacobs five for 26 and Yanick Elliot four for 27.

The final scores are Melbourne Kangaroos 125 and 125, Kingston Tigers 140 and 86.

St. Catherine Saints defeated Westmoreland by an innings and 141 runs at the Alpart sports club.

St. Catherine Saints 333 for five declared, Westmoreland 116 and 76.

St. Elizabeth Sharks gained first innings points from the Jamaica Defence Force Brigades.

The final scores are St. Elizabeth Sharks 185 and 195 for three declared, JDF Brigades 165 and 153 for seven.
