Lightbulbs discovery to determine shortfall in project

The Energy Minister, Clive Mullings said yesterday’s discovery of more than 1000 lightbulbs could help in determining the exact shortfall in the Cuban light bulb project.

Two youths have been arrested in connection with the find.

Mr. Mullings said the bulbs could be among the batch that went missing during the distribution period.

The Energy Minister said this find could also help the government to recover some of the $276 million that was incurred under the bulb programme.

The Constant Spring police are seeking a councillor caretaker in connection with the discovery of the bulbs on premises in stony Hill, St. Andrew.
