STETHS retain Headley Cup

Rural area schoolboy cricket kingpins, St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) retained the Grace Headley Cup yesterday after the three-day final against Manchester High ended in a draw at Alpart.



The Santa Cruz-based school won the final by virtue of taking first innings points.



Bad light ended yesterday’s final day. When the umpires called off play Manchester High, batting a second time, were three for one in search of 269 for victory.



Resuming yesterday on 72 for one, a lead of 92, STETHS declared its second innings at 248 for three.



Derval Green top scored for STETHS with 91. He got good support from Maverick Perry, 75 not out, and McKoy Ewart 41.



Final scores are Manchester High 106 and three for one, STETHS 126 and 248 for three declared.
