Several residents of Berwick in Riversdale, St. Catherine this morning blocked the Crawl main road to protest against the shooting of two men by the police.
They are Everton Dawes and Treverton Phillips.
The men were said to be among four people who fired at the police shortly after midnight.
According to the Spanish Town police, a team was responding to reports of a robbery when the incident happened.
The police said upon reaching the Crawl main road, four men armed with guns approached and fired at them.
The police said they returned fire, after which Dawes and Philips were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
They were reportedly taken to the Linstead Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The police said a .22 LR pistol with seven rounds of ammunition was taken from the body of one of the dead men.
