Classes at the Ocho Rios primary school in St. Ann are expected to resume this morning.

Classes at the institution were suspended last week, following heavy rains in the parish between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The closure forced nearly 2,000 students at the school to stay home.

Four classrooms, the reading room and the teacher’s cottage at the school were flooded.

A large quantity of books were also damaged.

Principal of the school, Herman Grant is appealing to members of the business community and citizens of the area to assist in replacing the books.
