The Jamaica Surfing Association will send a small team to the Quik Silver World Junior Championships in France because of financial difficulties.

The Championship will start on Wednesday, May 21 and continues until Sunday, June 1.

The team now includes Shane Simmonds and Ackeam Phillips. Luke Williams has been appointed coach and Norman Williams is the manager.

The local association was considering a squad of 12 athletes and three officials at a cost of $3 million.
