Chairman of the Peoples National Party (PNP) Bobby Pickersgill is dismissing recent media reports, which suggest that there is disunity in the party.

Mr. Pickersgill was addressing a meeting of the PNP’s National Executive Council (NEC) at the Manchester High School yesterday.

Last week there were reports of a dispute over the leadership of the party.

Yesterday, The Sunday Gleaner confirmed that PNP Vice President, Dr. Peter Phillips is facing mounting pressure to campaign for the leadership.

Mr. Pickersgill said any reports of a rift in the party at the leadership level are not accurate.

He told journalists that the growing perception of corruption among members in the party was among the areas discussed at the meeting.

Mr. Pickersgill said the PNP hierarchy also discussed the call for a review of the party’s code of ethics.
