NAJ urge government to settle issues
Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) said it would not enter into any new agreement with the government until several outstanding issues for the 2006/2008-contract period are settled.
First vice president of the NAJ, Noel Julius said although the association has prepared its proposal for the 2008/2010 contract, its members are not prepared to sign off on it until the outstanding issues are settled.
Yesterday, the association called its members to an extraordinary meeting where several issues including its wage negotiation were examined.
Mr. Julius said the nurses have given the government until June 30 to settle the outstanding issues.
