Bus operators who ply the Linstead to Spanish Town Route in St. Catherine are protesting against the decision by the Transport Ministry not to grant them a fare increase.

The bus operators are upset that they are not on the list of transport operators who were recently granted a 25 percent increase.

Transport Minister, Mike Henry said the increase was only applicable to route taxis and bus operators transporting 10 people or less.

Managing Director of the Transport Authority, Keith Goodison, said the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) is now assessing the proposed rate structure for Hackney Carriages and Rural Stage operators.

Mr. Goodison said the revised fare structure would be announced shortly.
