Lewin takes office as new police commissioner

Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin takes office today as police commissioner. He succeeds Lucius Thomas.

53 year old former Jamaica Defence Force Chief of Staff, has been contracted to serve in the top post of the Jamaica Constabulary Force for the next three years.

An installation ceremony for the new police commissioner, is scheduled for 8.30 this morning, at the headquarters of the Constabulary Force.

Rear Admiral Lewin, a retiree from the Army after 35 years of service, will be the island’s 26th police commissioner.

The Police Service Commission selected Rear Admiral Lewin for the post of commissioner earlier this month.
