Jamaican athlete switches to Great Britain
Jamaican athlete Julian Reid has switched allegiance to Great Britain.
The sports governing body International Association of Athletics Federations, (IAAF), confirmed the switch in its latest newsletters.
The IAAF says Reid will be eligible to compete for Great Britain by August 18.
Reid, who attended Wolmer's Boys before moving on to Texas A&M, represented Jamaica at the 2009 World Championships in the triple jump.
The 22-year-old Reid, who has personal bests of 8.04 metres in the long jump and 16.98 in the triple jump, joins Germaine Mason as Jamaican athletes to switch to Great Britain.
