JADCO rejects claims of former anti-doping boss
The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) has rejected the claim by former world anti-doping boss, Richard Pound, that the Jamaican athletes often cannot be found for testing.
According to JADCO the database of the World Anti-Doping Agency which details information of all tests and missed tests does not support Pound’s allegation.
“JADCO has never received any complaints regarding the athletes not being found for testing,” said Professor Winston Davidson, the acting chairman of the JADCO Board of Commissioners.
In a statement this evening, the acting JADCO chairman says the body is acutely aware that the Jamaican athletes will attract the attention of the world.
“Every track and field athlete representing Jamaica at the recent Olympics was tested In-Competition in June 2012,” he said.
Davidson also said, in conjunction with the International Association of Athletics Federations elite athletes were tested more than once and all results were negative.
