Local engineers have checked and certified that the Air Tran aircraft that was damaged by a bullet from an air marshal’s gun can fly.
The aircraft, scheduled to depart for Baltimore, Maryland is currently boarding passengers.
No passenger was injured during the incident which happened sometime after 3 p.m.
"We really don't know how the incident occurred, but we were told it was an accident," says Elizabeth Scotton, director, commercial services at the airport.
Scotton says from time to time air marshals come in on the flights.
