NWC boasts 56 per cent revenue increase

The National Water Commission (NWC) is reporting that at the end of November its monthly billing for some areas in Stony Hill, St. Andrew, reflected a 56 per cent increase.

It is attributing the increase in revenue to the improvements in the water supply to six communities in the area.

The communities include Stony Hill, Sherbourne/Kingswood, Golden Spring, Diamond Road, Wireless Station Road, and Mannings Hill Road.

The improvements were made to the Stony Hill distribution network, under the Jamaica Water Supply Improvement Project.

The project allowed for 760 new customers in informal settlements to be added to the NWC database.

The NWC said this resulted in an additional $683,000 in revenue in November.

The second component of the project will begin next month and is scheduled for completion in two years.
