Three-day Cabinet retreat begins today
As the Prime Minister Portia Simpson-led Cabinet goes into retreat today, members are being warned that they must emerge with concrete plans for taking the country forward.
It is expected that the Cabinet's discussions at Jamaica House will focus on matters pertaining to the economy.
The Cabinet is also expected to issue a statement when its deliberations end on Saturday.
Political Analyst Kevin O'brien Chang said much hinges on the contents of that statement, especially for Simpson Miller, following what many have deemed a disappointing address to the nation on Sunday.
This is the fourth time that the Cabinet is going into a retreat, since the People's National Party Administration came to office in January last year.
Chang said this latest retreat is a signal the executive is yet to decide on a direction for the country despite being in power for more than a year.
