US Congresswoman renews call for action on Haiti

American Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke has renewed calls for heightened action to help improve Haiti's recovery from the 2010 earthquake, which devastated the country.

Haiti marked the third anniversary of the earthquake on January 12.

She says although three years have passed, many Haitians are still struggling to rebuild.

Clarke says she will re-introduce the Haitian Emergency Life Protection (HELP) Act at the 113th US Congress. The Act will allow applicants with family-sponsored petitions that were approved on or before January 12, 2010 to work in the United States and send remittances back home, as they await their green cards.
