The Jamaicans put up a valiant fight against Mexico inside the Azteca to gain their first ever point at that venue in a World Cup Qualifier late this evening.

After 90 minutes of regulation time plus six minutes of stoppage time, the game ended 0-0.

Jamaica's Reggae Boyz missed a glorious chance in the 9th minute when Jobi McAnuff hit the upright before the goalkeeper blocked the rebound.

The Mexicans also missed a few chances at goal and there were a few brilliant saves from the Jamaican goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.

The second half would provide more chances for the Jamaicans, but Ryan Johnson never delivered the gifts.

Jamaica has nine matches remaining in the campaign.

The next match will be against Panama on March 22 in Kingston.
