The Lotto Classic for the Governor’s Cup is set for Saturday, May 25 at Caymanas Park.

The race marks the continuation of Supreme Ventures Limited sponsorship of horseracing.

The Lotto Classic, highly regarded as the major prep for the Derby, is over 2,000 metres.

The day dubbed Lotto Classic Day, signals the start of four major races sponsored by Supreme Ventures Limited for a combined package of $8.4 million on the 2013 calendar.

The Lotto Classic was launched yesterday.

And racing secretary of Caymanas Track Limited, Denzil Miller, says the calibre of this year’s field should ensure a highly competitive race.

The probable starters are the Wayne DaCosta-trained HOVER CRAFT and stable-companions PERFECT  NEIGHBOUR and RUM PUNCH, as well as Gary Subratie's BIG MAN IN TOWN and stable-companion ZACAPA.

The field should also include One Thousand Guineas winner SELECTABOOK, DOC HOLIDAY, ROCK UNION, RHEA'S A SUPERSTAR, BORDER LINE, ARGENTINA, ROYAL VIBES, CRUCIAL APPEAL and UNCLE TAF.

Unbeaten Two Thousand Guineas winner WILLIE GOLDSMITH and Oaks heroine LADY ABHIJITA will both bypass the race in preparation for the derby.
