10 more global champions added to New York fields

With just over a week to go until the Adidas Grand Prix – the first of two US-based legs of the Diamond League Series – 10 more global champions have been added to the line-up.




Among the latest addition to the May 25 meet is Jamaican-born US sprinter Sanya Richards-Ross.



Last year the US sprinter won her first individual Olympic gold medal in the 400 metres , and then followed it up with her third Olympic 4 x 400-metre title.



The American Record-holder at 400 metres will face Amantle Montsho of Botswana and Christine Ohuruogu of Great Britain.



Also joining the roster is Christian Taylor, the 2012 Olympic gold medallist and 2011 World champion, and Phillips Idowu of Great Britain, the 2009 World champion, in the Triple Jump.



A number of Jamaicans are confirmed for the meet including Olympic gold medallist Veronica Campbell-Brown.



Among the other Jamaicans confirmed are London 2012 Olympics 200-metre bronze medallist Warren Weir, Sherone Simpson, Shericka Williams, Novlene

Williams-Mills, Kenia Sinclair, Nesta Carter, Aleen Bailey, Kemar Bailey Cole and Rosemarie Whyte.



Allodin Fothergill, Leford Green, Riker Hylton and Nickel Ashmeade are also down to compete.
