Historic: Six females in Senate

For the first time in the history of Jamaica, six of the members of the Senate will be females.




The number inched up today following the swearing-in of Sophia Frazer-Binns, an Attorney-at-Law, who took the oath of office as senator.



Fraser-Binns joins Sandrea Falconer, Angela Brown-Burke and Imani Duncan-Price on the the Government side, and two Kamina Johnson Smith and Marlene Malahoo Forte in the 21 member senate.  



She takes the place of Redwood and his pledged to serve with conviction.
