Road works in the vicinity of Market Place, St Andrew

The National Works Agency (NWA) is to close the Western Bridge spanning the Sandy Gully in the vicinity of Market Place, St Andrew for two weeks beginning tomorrow.



The NWA says the closure will facilitate emergency repairs and the roadway should reopen by June 2.



All traffic will be accommodated on the eastern bridge over the period.



Between the hours of 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. two lanes of traffic in the direction of Half-Way Tree Square and one in the direction of Manor Park.



In the afternoons two lanes of traffic will be accommodated in the direction of Manor Park and one towards Half-Way Tree square.



The NWA is advising persons to add an additional hour to their travel times in order to compensate for any delays experienced.



It is also advising motorists and pedestrians to proceed with caution along this section of the corridor during the period of closure and obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
