Fraser-Pryce, Weir top races at Shanghai Golden Grand Prix

Jamaica’s talented athletes shone at the Golden Grand Prix in Shanghai today.



Warren Weir won the men's 200-meter and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took first place in the women's 100-metre race.



Warren Weir took first place in the men's 200-metre race in a time of 20.18 seconds; while Justin Gatlin of the USA took second place in 20.21 seconds and, Jamaica’s Jason Young took third place in a time of 20.22 seconds.



Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce placed first in the Women’s 100-metres race, in a time of 10.93 seconds; Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria came in second, in 11 seconds; Carmelita Jeter of the USA crossed the finishing line third, in 11.08 seconds.



Jamaicans Samantha Henry-Robinson, Sheri-Ann Brooks and Aleen Bailey came in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.



Jamaica’s Kaliese Spencer placed fifth in the Women’s 400-Metres Hurdles, in a time of 54.91 seconds.



Jamaica’s Kimberly Williams placed fifth in the Women’s Triple Jump posting 13.99 metres.
