Manchester police arrest six wanted for violent crimes

The Manchester police have arrested six persons wanted for violent crimes in the parish, including a man wanted for the murder of noted radiologist, Dr Phillip Chamberlain.



The arrests were made late April through to May 10.



In a release from the Jamaica Constabulary Force this morning, the police say Roger Broderick, who was wanted for the murder of Dr Chamberlain was taken into custody on May 10.



Dr Chamberlain was murdered at his practice at the Mandeville Radiology and Imaging Service (MRIS) at 1 Brumalia Road in Mandeville on July 14 last year. A woman, identified as Jillie Ann Bernard, is still being sought by Manchester investigators in connection with the murder. She is said to be from a Spalding, Clarendon address.



In addition to Broderick, the police say they have also arrested Andrae Hepburn and Jesse Thompson, who were wanted for an act of wounding with intent on March 17 at Brontie and Silent Hill Roads in Christiana. They were arrested on April 30 and have already appeared in court. However, their respective matters have been postponed and will be heard at a later date.



Oneil Saunders, who was wanted for the murder of 14-year-old student, Ricardo Morgan and the wounding with intent of 18-year-old Dave Smikle in Long Coffee District, Manchester was also arrested on April 30. He has appeared in court but his matter has been postponed for a later date.



Another wanted man, Durani Thompson handed himself in on May 4. He was wanted for the murder of Ricardo Fong, a teacher of Bloomfield Street in Manchester. He too has appeared in court, however, his matter has been postponed for a later date.



Dane Daley who was wanted for robbery and questioning in relation to the murder of Kenneth Guthrie on March 3 last year, was arrested on April 20, at Ritchie’s Lane in Waterloo, Kingston.



The Manchester sleuths are, however, still searching for Vaughn Lee, otherwise known as Lian Dacarviix and OJ, who is wanted for the murder of prominent medical practitioner, Dr Clinton Lewis.



Dr Lewis was shot at his home in Wesley Heights, Mandeville on June 1 last year. The police say Lee is from School Road in Black River, St Elizabeth.



And the investigators are also searching for Trevor Sparks, otherwise called Mexican, who is wanted for the murder of Sylveta Brown. Brown was killed in Hopeton District in Hatfield, Manchester. The police say Sparks is also from Hopeton District.
