Criminals flee leaving gun, bag with ammunition behind

In two separate incidents criminals hotfooted their way away from the crime scene, leaving their illegal possessions behind.



Would-be robbers left behind a 9mm pistol this morning, after trying to rob a man in St James.



The police say the 9mm Taurus pistol was seized in Providence Heights, Flankers, St James this morning.



Reports are that about 12.53 a.m., a male was accosted by a group of men, one of whom was armed, they attempted to rob him.



A tussle ensued during which the gun was retrieved and the robbers fled the scene.



The Police were alerted and the weapon handed over.



In another incident in Mount Industry Irish Town, St Andrew last night, the police say six assorted rounds of ammunition were seized.



Reports are that about 10:15 p.m., while conducting a patrol in the area a male was accosted.



Upon seeing the Police, the man dropped a white bag and fled from the area.



A search was then executed which revealed the ammunition.



The police are continuing investigations in both incidents.
